First TVR Craft AJP8 on Dyno

Okies, it's good news for this TVR Craft customer .. car made 370bhp as delivered. Engine is a Craft rebuild but essentially is just a nicely built std 4.5 except for some head porting. Car still runs std compression .. now as most of you will nkow it takes an exceptional std 4.5 to make 360bhp so this car with it's extra airflow unmapped is pretty good already.

A quick trim on the mapping box of fuel and ignition liberated 404bhp, the mixture was still a bit weak in the midrange and a bit rich at the top .. you can usually run very rich before hp takes a dive but hp quickly drops of if you start weakening the mixture, so the 370lb.ft midrange was a nice surprise at these mixture strengths. Had the car been running an emerald ecu we'd have seen an extra 10lb.ft esily at this point.

Added the short induction and remapped today and car has peaked at 419.5bhp, so is bang on the money even without linked decats, large bore system or high flow filter.

Too right.....with a proper big bore exhaust it would be even more powerful than mine. I would be interested to know what torque it's made though......anywhere around 370lb/ft is exceptional.

I've still got the intermediate pipes as well as the front induction induction pipes / box mods to complete, once fitted they should push the car upto and hopefully over 435bhp

Yup, they even have a special criteria in the MOT test, basically they are to meet the critera of a non cat car but with cats!
