I've just bought a Canon 350D

The wife needed a camera for photographing stock for her business (see this thread) so we bought a Fuji S9500 as it looked like it might fit the bill - a super-duper compact / almost-DSLR depending on how you look at it.

Didn't work out - poor AF and a digital viewfinder let it down, so managed to get a full refund under Jessop's 30-day guarantee.

Have just bought a 350D black-body kit with a EF-S 18-55 lens and a Tamron AF70-300 telephoto.

It is SO nice to use a proper camera again - I used to be a very active photographer about 20-odd years ago and used to use an Olympus OM-2n film camera and do all my own B&W developing.

Just kidding. 350D is fanatastic. In fact, to me, the upgrades in the 400D don't justify me trading up from my current 350D. I will just wait for the 450D (which in the States will be called the Turbo Diesel Digital Rebel VVTXLi)
