coolant level sensor

I am finally fed up of my obc saying check coolant level, when the car doesnt use any so I am going to change the coolant level sensor tomorrow. So any hints and tips on how to change it? car is 1994 E36 325i coupe.

I think this is a very straightforward swap, and that the sensor is known to go bad fairly often. As usual I'd recommend a Bentley manual, worth having in any case.

Although, I think this sensor just unplugs electrically and unscrews mechanically from the top of the coolant expansion tank, honestly I think all you need is the correct size spanner and probably an adjustable one would be OK.
