Hi there,

Please click the link below to view details of an accident involving a Ferrari 599 that happened in Germany this week.

www.sachsen-fernsehen.de/default.aspx?ID=1092&showNews=14522

The text is in german but translates roughly as: -

On the A4 with Dresden a Ferrari is come up in flames. According to police the Ferrari had GTB Fiorano probably because of a technical defect at the Monday afternoon between the connection points Dresden Hellerau and Dresden airport fire and was completely burned out and. It is to have concerned a work-new vehicle. The driver gets off the fright, because of the deletion and salvage work forms a kilometer-long back-up. The damage, more than 250,000 euro.

Just goes to show perhaps Pentagrams are bad luck after all.

Regards

Tim

Good grief, it wasn't even in an accident by the looks of things. I wonder what caused it.

So when such a brand new car bursts into flames is that an insurance claim or a warranty one?

I guess Ferrari would aploigise and just give you a new one...

They repaired an Enzo apparently (worse than this, the one that Gizmondo bloke crashed) at a cost of $300,000

The so-called $300K Enzo was a quote to re-build after that almighty crash in the USA.

Wouldn't this be a Ferrari test or dealer car? In which case Ferrari would just take the hit. I didn't think customer deliveries were starting until 2007?
