Thinking of selling?

If anyone is considering trading in a Griff 500 which meets my spec. (below) please let me know - I may be able to pay more than the dealer has offered you. I am a private buyer looking for a good car at a reasonable price.
Year: 1995-98, N,P, or R reg.
Colour: Silver, Blue(e.g. Paris, Viper, Imperial but not dark), maybe Mica red.
Interior: Magnolia (may consdier others depending on body colour).
Mileage: Under 50k.
Ideally the chassis should have been waxoyled from new, and there should be a detailed service history.

Having just bought a Griff I can tell you there are a lot of buyers out there but waiting for the perfect car to come up. When it does they snap it up!, I lost a couple of good ones by trying to play it cool. In the end when mine was advertised for sale I dropped everything and drove straight round to verify it was exactly what I wanted and bought it on the spot. Didn't manage to knock much off the price but got a OK part ex price for my Chimaera.
There's lots of cars but very few decent ones - and a decent one won't come that cheap

have just spent nearly 4 months trying to find the right car in the right spec, and I ended up travelling nearly 500 miles to get it!
There are lots of cars out there, but the usual suspects are either not worth buying unless you fancy a lot of work or are over priced for what they are and people are not willing to pay that amount for them.
If you want a good car for a good price, then good luck! (and be mega quick)

I could be tempted. I have deliberately not advertised the car so far, because I do not really want to have to sell it. I am in the throws of setting up a new company and am juggling finances, selling the car would help although not absolutely necessary.
Anyway, it is a good one, I bought it from a senior manager of a major Aston Martin dealership and it was his personal car. I used to run a main franchised dealership myself, so I am a fair critic too. Also the TVR dealerships it has been in to since I have had it (it has only required routine servicing) have also given it good reports.
In brief - Griffith 500 1996/ N (currently on a '500 ***' plate), PAS, 60k miles.
Silver stardust with navy interior (although I have fitted it with light grey Tuscan seats which look good, are a lot more comfortable and are available by separate negotiation if required).
Full service history (13 with TVR dealers, 1 at Tower View).
Precats removed and sports exhaust, Steve Heath droplinks, four speaker CD multichanger.

I agree it's very aggressive price but unfortunately the Griff market seems to be slow at the moment.Much as I love it,I'm simply not using the car.I've got an 4.6 X5 for the school runs and a rather tasty Maser Coupe for the 'lets go for a blast'days.(Ok I know a Ferrari V8 makes a very different noise to the old Rover lump but you kinda get used to it )
My Griff is a cracker and has been significantly upgraded by all the right people (V8 Developments,Mark Adams,ACT,Modwise etc etc).It's a real deal for somebody and is priced to sell quickly.
If I don't get a taker at this price in the next few days it's going to go into a cacoon for the winter and I'll wait for the market to pick up next spring.

I can't beleive you're letting it go for that! If I hadn't spent so much time sorting mine out I'd be tempted to sell up and buy yours!

It's certainly generated a lot of interest at this very aggressive price and I'm sure it's going to go quickly to some lucky sod who was in the right place at the right time.
I've really enjoyed owning and improving the car but one of the big upsides of Griff ownership is the great people you meet via PH,modifiers,Club meets etc - going to miss that just as much

This is actually quite amusing, in a nice way. TVRs don't follow the rules you see - you'll spend ages touring aorund trying to find that perfect car for a bargain price, and after a few months you'll realise it doesn't exist. Then you'll stumble on the perfect combination of colours and condition, and simply hand over your wallet with a sheepish grin!!

That's looks like a cracking good car - but sadly a 2000/X will be beyond my budget!
Whoever ends up with this car will be blessed with one of the best Griffs in circulation - for sure.

What a dilemma, if I state a price range surely sellers will say their car is worth at least my upper limit?
Oh well, what the heck, lets say £10k to £14k is the price range I'm considering.
