Monaro in my local breakers
Discussion
you may remember me posting re this some months back - well it looks like finally the car is going to be broken - going to be a donor car for another project. Looks to be mostly body panels that are going - engine being kept to one side. Anyone looking for other bits and pieces - seem to recall someone wanted the centre console compartment lid.
what you wanting from it - deal to split the car fell through so until he gets someone wanting something sizeable from the car - ie entire front end he's not wanting to split it. Only way we could get round this would be if we could get enough bits and pieces that combined it would be enough for him to break the car.
wheels are in a real mess - ones off for welding due to a nasty crack on the inside rim. Only fixing it to make it safe - I dont know that cosmetically they'll ever be completely fixable.
He may be prepared to sell the engine and transmission for the right money - has a bent conrod though so engine has been stripped for fitting a replacement. He thinks it bent during the crash as the car rolled and may have suffered oil starvation. He's a bit of an engine buff and he detected it from a tiny noise he picked out when turning the engine over in the yard. Its 500ukp to replace the components from UK suppliers so he's toying with buying higher compression full set of pistons etc from US or Oz which comes to around the same price!! He's been asking how high it can go power wise normally aspirated and I know he's been toying with twin turbo kit from US as an option for it - the one that goes in the rear wheel arches? So he may have already decided he wants it for himself - which could push price to get it from him up a bit.
Oh and its an 05 model Odyssey grey 5.7 CV8 model with 2k miles on the clock!!!!
If you're still interested in the engine I'll pop over and ask him at the weekend if he's prepared to sell it.

Ditto....I'd be happy with 2 wheels...
As for engine, the fact someone has stripped it, makes it less apppealing, regardless of apparent damage.
I prefer an untouched example. Less chance of someone cocking up the rebuild.
I know someone who would be interested though. Price would need to be sensible though, especially given someone has tampered with it. They might even prefer it in its stripped state, so they could effect any repairs.
pm me a ballpark figure for engine, trans, prop, wiring, ecu etc.

He's dreaming imo. If there's a bent rod he wouldn't know from just cranking it over. As for new pistons etc then it needs a full rebalance and a load of other work (big labour time)to do properly. The engine's worth scrap value whatever that is given it's been in a major shunt. I wouldn't touch it accept for spare parts ie dismantled.

I'll pm you his contact details to ask about the rear quarter etc - car was rolled rather than shunted, roof ,doors and bonnet took the brunt of the impact. As I recall the rear of the car was pretty much intact with exception of a few scratches.
Least I would pm you his details but your profile doesnt let me email you!!
