New Throttle Cables

Just for information, TVR Parts is now remaking Throttle cables for S3.
Spoke to Richard there on Friday and they were testing the fit on a customers S3 next week.

That is good news, time for a silly question do all the V6 engines have the same cable??? if it will fit an S2 I`ll get a spare.

The Ford cable is/was common to all 2.9's (not Cosworth).

Appartently the 2.8 are still available so there is no rush to make up replacements?

Spoke to Richard again today and they are finished and available for ordering tomorrow, after having made minor mods.
I think he said around £28 + VAT.

that sound`s a little expensive,
speedy cables in london make any cable to pattern/design,
they are cheap aswell.

Useful alternative to carry if you can't get one is a bike brake/gear cable or indeed any bowden cable with a nipple at one end to secure it. Couple of pinch bolts to secure the other end and once its threaded through the existing shroud, jobs done in 15 minutes. Its far easier than trying to refit the whole of the original cable plus shroud again..

Has ayone tried 'speedy cables' for this? If not, I just sent them an email enquiry so will let you know when I get a reply. My cable broke just as I was leaving a friends house & although in many ways that was quite fortunate, he's getting rather annoyed at having it parked on his drive!!! I spoke to TVR car parts today & they still don't have an answer so it could be at least another week or two.

Try my temp fix using a bowden cable from Halfords.. Mines as good as new after about 1000 miles..
