Looks geeky, is geeky:
GDAM, a Unix style open source DJ-mixer http://gdam.ffem.org/
Once installed, it is intuitive to use, however using it to full extend requires some deeper understanding...

DJ Traktor Studio is extremely impressive, and really not too difficult to use. If i can get to grips with it, then any numpty can do it.
Not free nor cheap however, but you know how it is, if you want the best...
Me and some friends have dabbled with other DJ apps on Macs, but none really came close to DJ Traktor.
Its also one of those apps which is as easy to use as you want it to be, but also amazingly deep if you like to dig around and really get stuck in. You can do mixing with 4 decks if you want! Its definitely on the Pro side of things..
Btw, iTunes does have a crossfade (overlay) feature. But its crude at best, and you certainly cant do beat matching with it. DJ Tractor on the other hand makes beat matching pretty easy. Probably easier in fact than it is with a real pair of decks.
I had a quick look at that Gdam app.. I dont care how bad an app looks if it does its job well. But i noticed this one hasnt been updated in 4 years!? Unless I missed something.
There is a few more DJ apps also that might be good enough for you.. Have a look on www.versiontracker.com
Cheers, P
