If anyone is considering going down to Taupo for a fang on the track, I can thoroughly recommend Richard Lester (Richard Lester Motorsport) for a bit on one-on-one tuition to sharpen up your skills.
We found the test day to be really low key compared with Puke - Formula Challenge were running corporate day and were doing 10 min sessions about every half hour. There were 2 other cars that were there for 20min and apart from Shaun Sommerfield from TV3 to do some 'road test' filming with a new Jag and Aston Martin, we had the place to ourselves. Shaun had a wee spin, but I bet they don't show that on telly!!!
If you don't want to use your own car, Richard has a 300+hp EVO you can use and if its just hot laps you are after, he's also got a Porsche GT3.

If a particular date is not listed, ring and ask and you're more than likely will be able to run - they are that accommodating.
