Hello Folks,

Bought my chimaera 500 on Saturday after Rob Ingleby inspected it. One of the points he made was that some of the anti corrosion coating on the chassis was flaking off therefore could present risks of rust. Anyone can advise and recommend where i could get it waxoyled? I live in Shrewsbury, shrops.

Cheers guys.

This has been discussed many times. I would recommend you get it up on a 4-poster and clean off all visible flaky stuff then go over with a wire brush or similar. Then give it a liberal coat of Hammerite followed by a spray of warm Waxoyl - preferably from an air gun. This will get the job done properly although some on here will show an alternative preference to Hammerite.

Depending on how far you are prepared to travel TMS TVR in Melton Mowbray will waxoil you car for I think just under £100, I had this done over a year ago and the underneath is still really good, hardly any if any rust!!
