This might sound a bit daft but how do you guys carry a camera in your car? After having my D200 land with a thump in the footwell, after unexpected braking, I've taken to wedging it battery-grip first into the gap between passenger seat and door bolster. Although that seems to keep it secure, it's not ideal and I'm wondering how else to keep it safe but easily accessible?

All kit in the backpack, wedged firmly behind the driver's seat. The 120-300 stays in its own case wedged alongside.

As above - in it's bag along with everything else put down the back of the seat or if I'm just taking the camera I put the strap around the passenger seat with the camera sitting on the seat itself. This stops it both sideways and forward/backward movements.

The strap idea is nice and simple... so obvious too, cheers!

I use a solid briefcase style camera case, just move the foam inserts about so the camera body & lenses/flash/batteries etc don't shift, and place into the boot.

In a camera bag in the passenger footwell. Split side ventilation allows me to turn off the heating in the footwell so everything stays cool.
