Diablo GT vs VT - any comments?

I am guessing Ruttboy is the best bet for you.
But for what it's worth, the 6 litre is the best evolution of the Diablo (the SE30 the most entertaining)imo. But, the GT is much more extreme and probably the one to go for if you can find a good one. Carclassics has been listing only one (relatively high mileage) - they are hard to come by.
I keep toying with the idea of a GT!!
Seems a long time since I saw you at Brands.....although I do keep seeing pics of your car, which looks amazing by the way!

There is another one here: www.autosalon-singen.de/Detailansicht.aspx?fahrzeugID=07804_0009_02_02&languageID=en&modell=Diablo%20GT&marke=Lamborghini
Given how rare the GT is I would guess that that is the same car which was pictured at the Porsche meet a few months back (think the pictures were on a German site linked on fchat)

The Diablo GT in orange which Doug posted yesterday has been for sale for nearly 2 years. I would love to add one to the collection, but I think many of the potential buyers will be put off by the highish mileage for such a specialist car. They are all LHD and there's a 'review' of one on the Martin Brundle supercars vid on google

It's not the Wildest of all Diablo's , that crown goes to the GTR (30 born in 2000). LV Eric over on Lambopower.com has 2 (Alongside his Countach, SE30, Murciélago, 2xPhantoms, Enzo, Maybach etc etc)

Is the GTR a road legal car in the UK?
Hi guys.
In my experience of all of these cars, the GT is by far and away the most sorted of all the Diablos.
If you can live with left hand drive, then it delivers a driving experience few cars can match.
In pure accelrative terms, it is up there with the Murcielago, as it is somewhat lighter than any Murcielago or Diablo of the time.
It is also one of the most sorted V12s Lamborghini ever produced, as this was a car you could really throw around and manage the weight of the car as you would in a 360/355. Of course, it still has the tendancy to bite, but the feedback and information returned through the 2 wheel drive chassis lets you know far in advance of a similar VT.
Having said that, the GT is a very demanding car to drive, and I applaud those who have done high mileage, as it has, in my opinion, very limited touring capability due to the race seats, the complete lack of luggage space, and the lack of sound deadening material in the quest for reduced weight.
The 6.0 VT on the other hand is the best all round Diablo, with all the best bits of the GT, (the engine, sound and reliability) in a much more complete package. The VT really was the car the Diablo should have always been, with hugh power, real long distance ability, and great looks, but again, the handling does suffer against the purity of the GT.
It comes down to how you want to use the car, but looking at residuals, condition and rarity, I would go for a GT every time.
There were 4 official imports into the UK, 1 silver, 2 black, and 1 orange.
I know the where abouts and condition of 3 of these cars, so please pm me if you want any more information.
Cheers,
Alan.
