Booked my SVA date today, 28.9.06 @ 10.30 a.m. I am going to Nottingham so hopefully it will be a done deal. Will be leaving from nr. Coventry and pending a shakedown on the 27 th, may drive the 300 mile round trip so getting excited even with a month to go yet. Clive drove the car backwards and forwards a few feet on Sunday, the first time it has moved under its own steam (I will be using Optimax once run in) and early indications are good. The GD triple plate clutch is very light on the pedal with about 40 mm travel but sounds like a Ducati whist depressed (no bad thing, I don't mind mechanical noises if they are supposed to be there).

I am impressed Peter, I was under the impression that you didn't need to get out of bed until at least 8.30!

Didn't Wayne say that he was keeping Clive on full-time to offer support for the GTW??

What do you mean going to bed? There is a GTW to get built by the 28th in case you had forgotten! But seriously, funny you should mention advent calenders, I still get one every year but this year I am going to omit in favour of the weight loss programme in readiness for the :b:440Yrd:b: race next year, can't wait for that either

I am slowly getting the hang of this formatting thing.

Been there, done that. Anyway, after the SVA, just how tempted will you be to drive it around for a while until the final 'W' mods are made?

I really do have mixed feelings about that. I would like to have something monumental mark the GTW's first foray out into the big wide world (like when you did the CB, that is not really my sort of thing but the sentiment was uber-cool) but don't really know what to do. Also, if , as I hope, the car is 'ready' to be used at the beginning of next year (January 1st), do I use it then or wait until March to register it as a '07 new car? I am not really bothered if it is '56 or '07 really because, as mentioned yesterday, I have a none age related theme plate anyhow (it's still age related technically, but you know what I mean!) Because the GTW has snowballed into such a huge and dominant part of my life, the final realisation will take some adjustment for sure. All of this is a bit melodramatic I know, and maybe I will feel differently nearer the time but I just don't know?

That is one reason for choosing centre bolt rims.........only one nut to check on each wheel! Just remember, down there for dancing? rotate

Oh yeh, nearly forgot, thanks for partaking in this puerile nonsense, it is all in the cause of creating a sense of occasion blabla
