Are the Ferrari track days (ie Ferrari experiemce days www.donington-park.co.uk/drive/default.asp?choice=355#page) at Doninington worth the money?

Thinking of having a go at one as it does look fun driving but is it really worth it for just 6 miles of hooning? (assume thats around 3 laps)

Help appreciated

Steve,

They have it on special offer at the moment at £115 which is about as cheap as you are going to get for a Ferrari 360 drive. I have seen the odd ones at £99 but you generally don't get the familiarisation laps first so your Ferrari drive turns more into a track learning exercise. If you can stretch to £225 then i'd recommend the Ferrari + Single Seater experience as you also get to drive an MG first (gets you used to the track, lines, techniques etc.) then the Ferrari (which you will feel much more confortable in, knowing the track) then 10 miles (5 laps) in a single-seater.

I should say I have some knowledge of these experiences and many others as I work as an ARDS instructor for various companies that provide them inc Drive Donington. They are all pretty much the same and it mainly comes down to what track is most convenient or you prefer. Donington is perhaps one of the best as it has a good mix of corners and gradients. I think the Ferrari+SS is particularly good value and I'm not sure you can do this anywhere else in the country.
