Inspection & ECU Position?

I know this is a dumb question but I've only test driven a Noble, never opend the clams or had a look at the engine before. I am going to have a look at one [2.5] in the next few days. Where is the ECU positioned? I want to make sure of which one it is [not MM].
Does anyone know people that can do an inspection in North Yorkshire?

The ECU is behind a cover infront of the rear drivers side wheel. Its accessed from under the clam. You should be able to tell if it is a marelli from the big round loom plugs that sit up by the power steering tank.
you can just see them in this pic.
Although this will show a factory MBE upgrade, It's not 100% as some of the 3rd party ECU upgrdes (mine included) used the Marelli Loom. The only real way to tell would be to look at the unit itself.

Not too bad ta. The guys over at JEMS have done a serious number on it.
The whole things been apart, head skimmed and seats cut. Crank measured and balanced.
All the replacement parts now in bar the stretch bolts. (Technically they've been used twice already now) so should be replaced.
Interestingly enough, Ford class the duratec as non-rebuildable so internals aren't that easy to get hold of here....looks like anyone taking in their Mondeo with engine trouble gets a new lump!! Probably easier and cheaper for Ford to swap out than repair.
Luckily there's plenty of places in the US/Aus making tuning parts.
Working on the wiring loom at the moment...it's a mess !!

Can't remember exactly, but you will want to be sitting down.
JNM did the upgrade on mine. They're in Chesterfield 01246 272749
...I must add at his point that there are still several MM's going 100% with no problems at all. There's also a couple of companies who can repair MM ecu's. Can't remember who now but i'll have a dig around.

actually...it'll cost a little more like £3.5k even to fit the Omex unit...I had mine done earlier this year after the MM finally gave out...they could have repaired it for about £1k all in, but I thought it better to bight the bullet for the upgrade as will also help residuals on a 2.5 ltr car. Now gives 320 brake hp and drives smoother. My 2.5 is now in the classifieds, but I'm on the Kent/sussex borders so it would be a bit of a trip if you wanted to check it out.
