Electirc window fuse..

Keeps blowing.. Looks like someone else had the same problem as it had a 30 amp fuse in it, rather than the 15 amp suggested by the bible. The passenger side window opened fine last night, then on trying the drivers, it crawled down about an inch, horrible smell of burning electrics from under the dash, then the fuse popped. Replaced it with a 15 amp and it pops instantly..

It won't hurt to put some lubricant on the window to ease it up and down, (anyone suggest anything that'll do the trick?), but I suspect I've developed a short somewhere. Anyone got any ideas where to start to hunt for a problem?

Half a can of silicone lubricant and the window now works with a 15 amp fuse..

Sounds to me like it was struggling to 'get up there' causing overload, and fuse to pop.
I reckon you should strip the door, clean it all out and give it a damn good internal greasing from inside sir.

I've just had the door apart to fix the wing mirror. I suppose I should have given it a good greasing then but all seemed fine. Was really hoping I'd not need to whip it all out again so soon. A good squirt inside with a decent nozzle seemed to do the trick.
