Hi guys,

My car came out of a garage where they replaced the front left upright and wishbone. The next day i had new tyres fitted and the tracking done.

Now, when i turn left the front left makes a noise that sounds like when you hang a scarf (or any other item of clothing) out the window at 70mph.

Nothing 'feels' like its knocking or loose but the power steering takes away so much feel that it could all be flapping around for all i know.

Any thoughts you guys could throw into the ring before i take a look at it tomorrow?

Cheers

First thought is it's wrong, potentially dangerous, possibly even life threatening. Second thought is it may be something catching on the inside of the rim - brake line, perhaps. Third thought is if you really have to drive it, until you know what it is I would assume the wheel is about to fall off and the brakes are about to fail. After all that it's probably something trivial, but how much are you prepared to risk on the chance that it isn't?

Ok,

it was nothing serious afterall.

A large chunk of the mudguard is missing (and it must be one of the parts that connects the mudguard to the bumper) and the whole lot is hanging down lower than it should.

I have siliconed it back into place and fabricated a patch to cover the whole thats missing. (protects the horn from what i can make of it)

Took it out for a spin and the noise is no longer!! RESULT!

So, nothing suspension related which is fantastic!

Thanks for the help anyway.
