Petrol guage problem
Discussion
i have a problem with my petrol guage it was okay when i picked the car up , but is now stuck on full even though the tanks is nearly empty , i am lead to believe it is a problem with the sender unit does any one know where it is earthed ,or could it be another problem
I also have a stickly battery meter any ideas on that

Petrol gauge sender is accessible inside the near side rear wheel arch, you will find two wires connected to a sender in the side of the tank. In mine, when either of these are disconnected the gauge reads empty. Try it, if you get the same behaviour it suggests the sender may be faulty/stuck?
Had petrol gauge problems myself with my S3 and ended up replacing same with a new unit sourced from Penninsula - their last one.
New sender units are very difficult to find. It may be possible to repair the old one depending upon problem.
I live in Wilbarston (between Market Harborough & Corby), so if you want to email me directly I will pass you my telephone numbers and we can perhaps arrange to meet up and discuss?
