nothing should happen. However, I normally keep a dated and signed contemporaneous note about the incident. Time, date, speed travelling, location, conditions, cars about at the time. I have never had to use it on the few occasions gatsos have gone mad on me, but figure it'll help to argue a case if there were ever a need.

I always make hand-written contemporaneous notes of phone convos with insurance companies too. There have been quite a few occasions where insurance companies have done different things to what they said on the phone. I have very successfully used my notes to argue my point with them in the past.

Could it have been new?

One was installed near where I live and, before it went 'live', it was set to flash randomly so drivers would become aware of it.

There was bedlam in the local Police station, apparently, with old duffers complaining they'd been flashed.

Unless it's Dorset's Scamera Cash Cow in which case you'll find a fine in the post first, then they check but only if you ask. Plenty in the Dorset papers about it recently.

Same here, had it happen on a test drive of all things - I heard nothing.

Have pondered whether this is caused by dummy flash systems that I have heard (on the internet rumour mill) will go off for speeding cars in either direction.

Spoken to a couple of guys at work who also have been caught by this camera, although one was doing 35 and the other 36. Another chap at work says that he has seen cars travelling in the other direction trigger the camera. Why is this? Anyway I'll just have to waith and see what happens.

If there's no camera in a Gatso it'll go off when you're going towards it too. I'd imagine something travelling in the opposite direction set it off.
