Mercedes-AMG is offering customised performance packages for three AMG models.

The packages, for the CLS 63 AMG, SLK 55 AMG and SL 55 AMG, comprise various factory-fitted components which AMG reckons "significantly enhance the dynamics of all three models and further improve their racetrack potential". They were developed in the AMG Performance Studio and the vehicles are built at the relevant DaimlerChrysler production plants.

The performance packages for the CLS 63 AMG, SLK 55 AMG and SL 55 AMG focus particularly on chassis and brake system modifications, incorporating components with a higher performance rating and longer service life. Is this different to what was being called the AMG 'Black' series, which was covered by the car mags a couple of weeks ago?

Or was that where they are beefing up the engines too? Resulting in an SLK for about 85,000 erfin' quid.
