Im useless when it comes to PCs and want to get one for hopefully less than £650 but that has quite high end gaming capabilities so i can play the most recent PC games. Anyone suggest anything?

Do you need a complete PC (i.e. monitor, keyboard, mouse) or are you looking to upgrade and existing machine?

Hmm...

Depending on what games you play, looking at a console might be better? A lot of people in the CG forum seem to be having a wail of a time on PS2's and 360's... and both are definetly in your budget.

For £650... the Dell XPS range is out of the price range (cheapest is £1,170ish), although I haven't looked at their 'B' grade stock; which is still good and comes with a waranty, keyb, monitor, etc.

www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/pcrange.html?NFO Seems to be 'good' enough for casual gaming; drop a cheap monitor and some speakers in and you should be in the £650 budget, including VAT.

Difficult to say really. Consoles tend to be really good at some things and not very good at others.
But in terms of load time and graphics capabilities... I'd say reasonably on par with each other considering what I've seen of a 360's capabilities.
Remember, though those Novatech prices don't include the monitor or speakers.

Out of interest what you looking at playing on the PC?

Not really sure yet what games i will be getting yet, but in many respects i prefer pc gaming over consoles (although the 360 is amazing)

Yeah; a 7800 would be much better. But for the amount of kit that's being thrown in the case you really can't argue all that much... besides for casual gaming a 7600 should be pretty good.

On the other hand; I'm always eager to know where other people source stuff from so
