Tried to clear a blockage in one of the boot drainage holes at the weekend using a length of net wire but failed, as it seemed to be stuck fast. Also tried a bit of strong solder wire but that just bent so can anyone suggest another method or recommend a way to soft up the blockage? :waitsfortoilethumour:

Compressed air ?

A can of compressed air or a garage air line.

Just a suggestion, I have never tried it myself, so if a bit of dirt shoots out the bottom of the pipe and severs your toe off then It wasn't me who made this suggestion !

It should only be blocked with mud and the like, try something like Mr. Muscle first (if its really stubborn) then cut up a wire coat hanger and poke about gently.

Knitting needles work for me, leave them in the holes which seems to stop a lot of larger stuff getting in from the top in the first place. Also always to hand if required for additional proding

I always had this problem until it was fixed for me.
The drain pipes were replaced (along with the back end of the car) after a slight motorway mishap (5-car pile-up)!
