Whilst happily driving around in a 5.0 Chim enjoying the joyous sound of V8fm and only using the fitted radio for stationary moments i have noticed that for some reason the display has vanished!!!! The radio in question is a Pioneer KEH-P8400R and until recently has been working fine. It still plays and all the functions appear to work, it's just that you can't see anything on the display.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this??? I have read the manual cover to cover and unfortunatly it doesn't look like this is a feature.
Am i looking at an expensive repair bill, or am i missing something fundamental here???

Mine has started doing this as well, but only occasionally. Releasing and reattaching the face seems to sort it.

First off check the fascia is correctly attached then if that doesn't work, check the pins on the back of the fascia and the front of the unit are not bent. If they look OK, try cleaning them with a pencil eraser. If that doesn't work, I dunno...!

How old is the unit??, If it is an OEL unit then the display could have gone, they are prone to it!!, If it is under a year old and you know where it came from they will either exchange or repair it free. If not then you are looking at about £120 for a new OEL panel fitted. Pioneer have a parts distribution place in Melton Mowbray, I can not remember the name but I think it begins with S? They can supply the OEL bit for around £25 if you do the fitting which is very simple!!!, A few screws on the back of the front panel and it pops open!! Will see if I can dig out the name and number of the place!!
cheers
