Hardcore or Big Softie.
Discussion
The 911 has so many variations it can be both.
Me I am from the school of soft, I have a 1998 996 C2 tip coupe & love it, its fast for me, looks lovley ( non kit does it for me ) and my granny could drive it, get my 3 year old in the back, and it serves all my needs, bar one it's a tip top...
So, the reasons I never went for a Cab are, it lives on the street at night, a 911 attracts attention as it is, a cab 911 might as well have flashing lights on it. Also I have nowhere to keep the hard top, misses would go mad if she went in to the spare room and found a big car roof in the spare bed. She knows I love the car, but hey got to draw the line some where
.
To the point, we are moving house, garage is a must for me, pre 1920 is a must for her.
Did they make a C4S in cab
, or are all cabs narrow body, TT's are out, to pricey for me.
Can all these hardcore stalions forgive a man who has a kid to transport????

I've got two kids, 2 and a 4 you old. So, can't have:
GT3 - No rear seats, boot too small.
GT2 - No rear seats, boot too small.
TT - Boot too small.
Feel my C2 hasn't got enough power, but there's no 'upgrade' in the Porsche range. I could always make mine faster, but I'd have difficulty come resale.

996 Anniversary was a tarted up C2 with the power kit upgrade to 345hp wasn't it?
Good thinking, but for me it's not enough of power increase without the loss of weight. Plus the prices are into TT & GT3 territory.
Not far off what I'd be looking for though.

Yes they certainly did. C4S cabs were built from late 2003 onwards. However, beware the C4S boot is similarly small as the TT. If you want to transport kids only then it is fine. If you want any room for carrying "kids stuff" then you need to have a good look under the bonnet. Otherwise they are a fab looking car. My local (non OPC) dealer had a high spec black cab a few months ago. Very nice it was.

I don't think the power increase with the anniversary would be enough , Pony , if you're already finding yours lacking ... I could only feel the extra poke in the 5.5k+ revs. , and it wasn't kick in the ass obvious....
Sorry for the thread highjack. What I meant is there's no upgrade, for me, in the Porsche range.
What I'd like is:
2WD
Narrow body with C2 boot space
More power - say 380BHP
Bit lighter
User adjustable suspension
Sports exhaust
As Ballcock says, don't think 345BHP is enough of an increase over what I've got now.
Or, I could just supercharge mine, but then the 3.6 is a better base for this.
Then again I don't get a chance to use the power I've got now.

Ahem, a C2 can have the X51 upgrade consisting of:

Bloody hell that looks great. Has anybody got any tissues?

Surely it can't be any more expensive than my wife costs to keep?

Yeah , when the costs start to rise , it's time to trade in....

I keep telling her that and all I get in return is a sneer and a kick in the nads

Don't worry I can forge another one, how'd you think Ballcock got the time off?
I will definately be there then. Just hope she doesn't try the "have a safe journey" whilst speaking in english rather than german trick to catch me out on my great escape...
I presume Ballcock will be doing his James Garner look-a-likey bit with a blind bloke pretending to be Donald Pleasance in tow and you will hop over the fence of the pub on a 1940's motorcycle!
