Sadly it's a design fault with the layout of the way air flows around and through the car. Hot air enters the cabin via the hand brake and gearstick gaiters. You have to use the aircon and keep the windows shut. Don't know about he light problem though.

What he said. It's the fact that the tunnel isn't 'sealed' like most mainstream cars. If you have alancatara gear knob / handbrake gaiters it's worse as the air can easily flow through it.

It's just a case of the air flowing around any object slows down, the pressure drops, and hence if you have the window open air will be sucked out of the car. The easiest place for it to come back in is through the gaiters.

If you have leather it improves things as air finds it harder to flow through them, but it will still happen.

Keep the windows closed when on the move at 30+

It's possible, but what does your dipstick say? Are you losing oil excessively?

Martin.

its possible you have an oil leak - or there is a small amount of oil vapour coming from the breather system

probably best to get it looked at

Suggest you have it inspected again - not right - desggn quirk or no design quirk!

A common cause for this problem is when the vents are fitted incorrectly.

There are two vents in the underside of the tunnel, one at the front and one at the back, then need to face with the holes facing the rear of the car.

I have chatted to Lee directly about this problem at the launch of the M400 at Kerridges and he is fully aware of this fault but is unable to cure it.
