Not starting (again)

Things to check:
Re-arm and disarm the immobiliser a few times in case the relay is sticking.
Make sure the battery is fully charged, if it is running down then marginal problems become show stoppers.
There's a well known recurring problem with the starter motor which causes the solenoid to stick. It's caused/provoked by heat damage and usually worse when the engine is hot. If you do a search for 'hot start problem' you'll find more details of the problem and how to fix it.

Had this on my 98 Chim, after checking everything else mentioned in these 'non start' threads it turned out to be the immobiliser (although the fuel pump comes on its a 3 phase immobiliser).
Worth getting some advice before paying out for new starters/batteries etc.
Maybe speak to Carl BAker www.tvruk.tv/

Hi,
Had a similar problem recently, the majority of which was down to a corroded connector in the immobiliser loopback cable (comes out of the wiring loom into a terminating connector plug, and then back in). Took that off, cleaned it and all was working.
(Did have another problem with a dodgy replacement fuel-pump relay without a diode draining the battery, but that's another issue).
Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for all the help guys.
We figured it out. One mass cable was loose and it had no chance to recharge the battery.
Just one cable....damn it....
Now, the funny thing is, that it happend to a friend of mine who was taking the chim to a hillclimb race (as spectator only). There is always a slot for about 15 minutes to let people from the village above the track down to the city.
Of course the TVR broke down on the track 5 minutes before the race was ready to start again. They had to postbone the whole 2nd race because of a stranded chim. Lots of spectators, lots of nice comments about TVR and their reliability. lots of fun with TVR!
This is what I call lessons in humility. Thank you TVR :-)))
All the best
