I couldn't even make it to one year. I really didn't believe I would end up doing it, but Manu was right. My car needs a Tubi.

So I've gone ahead and ordered one from Scuderia Systems!. But more importantly than that, I just got a mega deal on the servicing, cambelt change etc. What would have cost only 6 months ago circa £5500, has now, thanks to Scuderia Systems arranging my service, cost me just under £3,000.

It includes the following and is booked in to be done by Graypaul (who I think are the best official dealership around):

1) cambelt service.
2) Full service (not the cheaper annual one, the one based on mileage).
3) one years Ferrari warranty with unlimited claim ceiling.
4) fitment of tubi exhaust.
5) Collection and delivery to my house.

1) and 2) was quoted for me 6 months ago for £3950 via Graypaul, and £4950 by Maranello Sales and MHT.

3) alone should cost over £1000.

I've already said thanks to the guys, but wanted to share this info with anyone else who was considering Ferrari ownership. The costs of ownership have now dropped!!!

I HIGHLY recommend anyone who needs any work done to their Ferrari to get a quote from Scuderia Systems. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Thanks again guys,

frostie

Seems like market conditions and the existence of reputable independants is forcing the dealers hands. I take it I am correct in thinking that the price does not include the Tubi itself.

Assuming no major problems I was told by Maranello Sales that the annual service for my 550 should be around the £500 mark as it was given a full 18k + cambelts when I got it.

I think right at this moment in time servicing is probably their major and almost only source of income judging by the cars on the forecourts which have been their for 3+ months.

I also cannot recommend Scuderia Systems highly enough. Their depth of knowledge and contacts are invaluable to the Ferrari owners community.

Thanks again guys,

Hah! So you've cracked at last Good call Ninja- your car will sound fantastic. The only surprise is that you've held on so long. Personally, I couldn't even contemplate owning a 355 and NOT doing this.

Damn good deal too; when I first read it I assumed it must be an Independent. Admit it- you've told Manu Speilberg he can direct the next production haven't you

Ninja, I'm delighted the guys have sorted you out a deal, but all of this reasonalbe cost stuff is a little unsettling.

Kevin,

Did you have a look at our website (I sent you an IP number to enter into your browser)? I mention goes to Manu Spielberg, mentioned as a Guru in our industry!

Was it that transparent what kind of deal we have done?

Frostie, I agree with you, the dealers are in shit street at the moment, and it always helps when they are not negotiating with the end buyer, it makes it all the more difficult for them. The tubi is not included in that price!

Daz, I agree with you, it is not reasonable!
It's just a lot cheaper than it used to be, and goes to show how badly they were raping customers before. I think my bill should be something like £2K more than it is, so I'm happier... but ultimately not hugely happy, just a lot happier. This years running costs have amounted to quite a bit, but I had anticipated such, especially as I have been putting on some mileage (relatively!).

Are you buying via official dealers? If so I think the car will have a formula warranty on it, but you can enquire as to whether they can change that to a POWER warranty as it does not have a ceiling on claims.

Contact either Graypaul or Scuderia Systems. They will email you details of what is needed and can answer all your questions. The beauty of this warranty is that it can be applied to LHD cars aswell. It will need to be maintained by authorised dealers though, from what I understand, and must have prior Ferrari service history.

Good luck

I tried but couldn't get it to connect! Since I have a pretty good idea what's in it, I tried quite hard too.....

Ninja is in fact my -the following word is to be said in a gangsta rap stye- 'Biat'ch' and as such I pay him quite well

I do suspect he is also doing a bit of part time 'Gimping' tho and also he has a paper round to earn a few more play playtime pounds and can often be seen on the streets of London village on an old Grifter pedal cycle delivering the Daily Sport

I heard he was a :AHEM!: rug dealer, as he enjoys explaining to Mr Policeman when they carry out their biweekly "is this your car sir" routine.

Allegations of links to the porn industry are rumours put about by his friends, who perhaps have such fiscal links to hide themselves, Manu?

Fraser, I said I WANTED to be a racing driver, I'm not one yet

Dear Manu,

FK OFF!

Actually Daz is the only one who is sane here, and clearly knows what reasons Manu has for trying to tar my name.

Iguana, we've recently given Manu a contact that he will be "dealing" with in the next few days, he has to "bring her up to scratch"... If you're not careful, we'll send him on your ass too!

Guys, I am frankly surprised at the insinuations. Where did they come from, and why? I'm more shocked than offended to be honest. Thanks Fraser for sticking up for me and not stooping to Manu et al's level (hopefully see you tonight).

PS. Kevin, try the link today, it should work. So far only added one other, but four more waiting in the flanks, details noted and awaiting loading.
