i went to london last night
outside the dorchester, there was a enzo, 2 mclaren slr's, a bugatti veyron, a lambo mucir roadster, and a gallardo spyder, and oh yeah some phantoms

then i drove to piccadilly circus and behind was a porsche carrera gt, the guy revving the nuts out of it

not to mention enough 430 , 355, 360's, they seemed common as muck
even lambo murcielago, i lost count how many i saw

on grosvenor square there were 8 ferrari's.lambos, 3 slr's and loads of posche, bentley, maserati

what is happening? why dont these people join pistonheads for starters

oh yeah i forgot to mention, the veryon i saw, the owner had PIMPED it up, removing the EB badge at the back, and putting R R R on the back instead, i was oblivious to the purple mucirelago roadster parked next to it, and the phantom on the other side
then i saw a M5 with plastic body fenders cut on the wheelarches, a very nasty aftermarket mod, it was painted brown, and the owner had ran out of petrol, that was pretty funny
and nods to the audi S8 owner, who when he saw that i clocked his car, he put his foot down and got to the horizon in like one second . pistonheads should market to these arab people, i made a video of the dorchester car park, with enzo, veyron, lambos , what a surreal sight!

K321:

I look forward to seeing it on the net. Only if I had stayed in London!!

Already went out for a spin in F50, Enzo, Carrera GT and SLR amongst several high end cars. Awesome.

I recognised the F50 pic you featured in your profile. When did you take it? I saw that car (5 BS) in 1997 in New Bond Street. Suffice to say, it looked sensational and turned many heads.
Keep up the exotica spotting!

You can't buy automotive exclusivity in London. It's all over.

Very true. A 997S (my car) is about as common as a Mondeo in London nowadays and seeing Ferraris/Lambos is pretty much a daily thing nowadays. The city has really picked up recently post the tech bubble mess and its definitely reflected in the cars that are being driven round.

Maybe they are too busy enjoying the cars.

I'm sorry but real cars don't require major removal and sale on ebay of organs to pay for servicing.

Market Pistonheads to enthusiasts and NOT posers.

That's not to say if I had a surplus of cash I might not upgrade my Daily Driver, but I'd keep my mk2 Cav as It's SPECIAL.

well thats true i guess to angelis. Every guy i saw driving a lambo, ferrari, or slr was an arab , 40 something. the carrera gt, enzo, bugatti i saw were all saudi arabian plated
to stand out in london u need a crap car

the f50 i saw, was in 2006. 5 BS. driven by some ferrari nut

but i was thinking if u had a bugatti veyron and drove it to like coventry or birmingham manchester, the traffic would stop still, in mayfair, not many people took notice of it, the same for the enzo. if i lived in london 24/7 i suspect my admiration for ferraris and lambos would detoriate rapidly.

The people from Middle East - they're on their summer holidays and they usually come to the UK, bringing their cars over. I bet when they refill their cars up here, the wide price gap might (or not) bother them given prices in the Middle East are a fraction of what we pay!

Thanks for the advice @ F50. I know the name of the owner. Good to see he has been keeping it for 10 years. The F50 I went out was owned by another guy who kindly offered me a blast at Donington.

You are too right aobut Birmingham and Manchester etc, they do turn heads here. When I was in the Carrera GT it never stopped turning heads. The same went for Enzo, SLR and Phantom. It was somewhat ego-massaging to be the centre of attention, but I live in the real world, hey! London is in another league though.

Why on earth would you want to bring a supercar to London!? Did they want to experience heavy clutch control in rush hour traffic?

That just about sums it up, doesn't it? I reckon PH could do without a massive influx of TonyLondons (only with still posher toys).

In Formby Village (L37) I saw a bloke and blond driving a Maserarti, the one that does 300 mph and is 12 foot wide. I rather thought that he must be exploiting someone to make himself that well off, but more so I thought, hows he going to get round all the parked up X5's

Far from it, not in the supertax or tax avoidance league (I wish though!)

I have good mates and contacts who offer me rides and drives. Some of them own car dealer groups, some in property and insurance, some in specialist manufacturing.

Whilst I enjoyed Enzo (Aug 2004) I preferred Carrera GT and SLR. SLR - pure theatre. CGT - pure driving pleasure. Roll on Veyron and MC12 sometimes.
