can anyone tell me if the c.v. joint on a tvr griff 500 1993.is a rover part or granada or can can anyone surply a part no, also is the steering rack the same on 500 as it is on a 4litre 4.3 manythanks in advance paul

CV joint is a "GKN" part no E 1 226
All the powersteering racks will be the same.

thanks very much v8sags i got a slight knocking in tunnl area could be diff ,rubbers warn c.v.posable gearbox mounts looking at otherproblems that peaple have

I work for GKN, I'll look the part number up and see if I can get them.

however, it is most unlikely to be the CV joints (as the knocking would not be in the tunnel if it was CV).

Is the knocking at low or high speed ? Low or High Torque ?

Steering racks are different (visually) but appear to be interchangeable (mechanically).

hi.everyone i had the car up on stands as i was undersealing the car so i started car up no reving just very lightly and you could hear aknocking had car in first and second and reverse you can hear it knocking it is as if the propshaft is hitting something or something is hitting something i have noticed slight vibration when revving about 2,3,4 thou you can feel it on gear lever too i was o road when i was doing that

People have had problems like that caused by the mounting bushes for the selector failing and allowing the back of the selector assembly to drop low enough to hit the prop shaft.
