On the way into the office this morning was a little behind schedule so was proceeding with purpose on the A303. I passed a Marked up T5 at 90 degrees to the road at a speed that he would be quite justified in pulling out after me.

I eased off and started checking the rear view mirror for the dreaded flashing Blue lights which fortunately never came.

My Question is been a marked up T5, if I was going to be done for speeding would he have to pull out after me and actually pull me over or is there a likelyhood that he would have some camera type affair and I am likely to get an unwelcome letter on my mat.

Hopefully he was just stopping for a coffee/writing up of notes and I am very lucky.

If it makes a difference it was in Hampshire about 10 miles before the M3.

Depends I guess. While awaiting PH BiB, the remaining question I'd ask from your description is, was the plod vantage point raised so they could have used vascar or similar by timing you between two suitably spaced fixed points? Was there a haidryer sticking out the window?

Otherwise I reckon they were just enjoying a donut break lick while being a 'presence'

Wasn't a raised vantage was pretty hidden away to such a point that I could only see him and therfore he couldn't see me until I was almost parallel with him, by which point the instinctive stab of the brake would have been ineffectual as I was already passing him.

I have been called many things although to the best of my knowledge this is not one of them, unless of course it is something that is said behind my back.

I am somewhat intrigued now as to who or what this Bug Blatter is?

Oh I see, sorry hadn't read the book. Daft as a hair brush maybe however unless he had specially developed X Ray vision (I hear they are trialling it in North Wales) due to the fact that he was parked with fairly dense woodland to his right and I was overtaking a Lorry up until about 20 foot before the entrance to his lair I think I can be fairly safe in the assumption that he didn't clock me more than a second or so before I saw him.

My concern was that he would have been able to tell that I was travelling briskly and was expecting him to pull out after me, the fact that he didn't left me with two options one that he was having a coffee and a donut or two that he was logging number plates to be sent a nasty letter in the post.

Am hoping it is the former.

Will have to try the wrapping of the number plate in a towel may indeed work.
