Which oil and fixing leak?

Might be opening a can of worms here but my engine has just done it's 1000 running in miles so needs it's oil change, currently running a 15W/40 mineral oil and wondering what I should now use? I used magnatec before the rebuild but not sure if it's too early to switch to semi-synthetic, could give TVR Power a call and see what they suggest.

Also have a leak where my oil cooler pipe bolts to the oil filter housing, can normal ptfe tape be used on such joints or should I be using something else?

Who rebuilt the engine? as i would consult them personaly as putting the wrong oil in could invalidate your warranty!

It was TVR Power who did the rebuild, so I'll give them a quick call tomorrow, what would you personally recommend though?

I would personally recomend wither royal purple or silkoline pro s, i like both but the silkoline is easier to get hold of! a thousand miles in my opinion is fine to be swapping to synthetic
