Bit of a rant here

I need a bit of advice on a warrenty claim, i recently brought a second hand CLio 12 months old, for a run about car.

The car was booked in this morning to be fixed, (the boot locking mechanism failed after 2 days of ownership, now i cant get in or get anything out of the boot.) turned up at the garage to say that yes your car is booked in this morning 9 - 12 but we can not give you your car back today as our service ramps have failed. (Since when do you need a ramp to get in the boot of the car) you will get your car back on friday afternoon. i eventually gave up on arguing and came home.

I had to take the morning off work and this has completely wasted my time.. is there any legal (trading standards) leverage i can use so they fix the car PDQ. as i have had the car for 12 days, i.e. not of merchantable quality???

Cheers

Steve

You can always report the garage to the Retail Motor Industry Federation, www.RMIF.co.uk
