web server and unicode
Discussion
We are trying to serve up some pages un unicode - to render Chinese.
We declare the character set in the html page as
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<html xmlns="www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
but all browsers take the default encoding of Western ISO.
so the character encoding header seems to be being ignored or over-written by the web server?
We use IIS6.
Can this be setup to force the character encoding at the virtual folder level?
TIA
