Can Am door struts

The doors on the Can Am lift right up, just short of the front wing, but with a bit of wind or carelesness Iam afraid of them touching, does anybody know of a shorter strut replacement please,

I put some safty wire inside the body between the hinge and the frame rail so the door only opens so far. A passenger in the car opened it to high and pulled the threaded piece off the end of the door shock. A shorty shock may work but unless it has metal ends it will pull off with out much force.
