I'm thinking of chopping my current bike (1200 Bandit) in for an SV1000S but I haven't been able to find any reviews on it. I know MCN did a piece on it last week but I missed it. Anyone know of any reviews on the web?

I read the review of the SV and to be honest you will not regret buying one , MCN loved it and also got 171mph out of it which isnt bad for a half faired bike , best thing to do is book a test ride on one and try it for yourself to see if it suits you , my mate bought a TL1000R with out a test ride and never really liked the bike , the SV has the old TL v-twin engine which is an absolutely storming lump

Damn. Just spoke to my insurance brokers who will not insure the bike as I live in central london and do not have a garage. This is despite having 5 years no claims. Apparently I can only have group 13 and below bikes. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? I have gone through Wicked Quotes who seem to cover most of the main insurers.

Cheers Ben. Found one company that will insure it but they quoted £1,500 TPFT. I'm currently paying £400 TFPT on my 1200 bandit so I might just keep that!

SV anything is a wonderful bike.

I think after a few years, you guys are gonna realise that almost any bike is faster than a car - and it has taken me 60,000 miles before I twigged that ultimate power isn't actually a lot faster than a good rider.

But don't take my word for it, go the distance - in the end, you'll be a faster road user on ANY bike, than almost any car.

If I could afford the insurance, I might have a fast bike again - but then, I 'd be crapping myself over getting caught at 170mph. I can't help myself, and if you ever meet me on the road, don't be surprised if you are shocked at the result (serious).

Keep it shiney side up folks!

I cant disagree with your sentiment. Last your I took an advanced riding course and the instructor, riding an 850TDM left us all for dead. Skill is worth a lot of horsepower...
