Were baby sick orange & purple ever cool ? even in the 70's ?
Must admit the Malard Green or Dark Blue colours look pretty good.

But at least brown helps to hide the rust !

I must admit, I do like Russett in a retro kind of way.

The purple colour was Magenta which is starting to become quite sought after in Dolomite Sprint circles.

Brown is certainly very retro, feeling the need to grow some sideburns and pick up some flared trousers.

My Spit. was Sienna (aka Poo) brown when it rolled off the production line (then went through White when I bought it, Inca Yellow when I re-built it and is heading towards Triumph (bikes) Scortched Yellow or Strontium Yellow when I get some bodywork re-done).

What I've never been able to work out is just what young man-about-town with a little cash in his back pocket walked in to his local triumph dealership and said:

Customer: "I want one of your small, cheap, convertable sports cars!"

Salesman: "What colour sir?"

Customer: "Poo Brown, my good man."

Java (aka Kermit) Green is another gem from the Triumph pain box - www.teglerizer.com/triumphcolors/index.html

Most magenta TR6s seemed to get resprayed red during the 1980's. It's still a vile colour IMO.

Very interesting on the colours, but that's left me a little confused.

My MkIV Spitfire is currently Brooklands (possibly even conifer) green, but inside part of the bonnet you can see the original purple (magenta?) colour. Thing is, it's definitely the old style metallic paint. Did they do a metallic magenta?

Triumph didn't do any metallics until they hooked up with Honda, a fact which old farts continually point out to me when looking at my metallic blue TR6. Some TR7s were gold or silver.

Metallic Blue TR6 ?
Now that must look pretty sweet !

Have seen a Stag resprayed in Black, and it looked quite stunning, especially on chrome wires.

Bought my TR6 in this original colour

Then restored the car and had it sprayed in a metallic BRG.

It really does suit the car....

You've got your indicator repeaters on the wrong way round...

Lovely car though. I considered a similar colour but went for blue as a nod at originality.
