the suspense generated in this thread will soon be placed into a light tent, photographed from several angles and uploaded to Bob SS account

I like the composition. A lightening of the sky and road, and intensifying of the yellows might brighten things up nicely.

I think half of the trouble is the weather. Nice setting/composition, but the overcast sky has probably drained half the impact you were looking for out of the scene.

Go back on a sunny or part-sunny day, try it again (if possible).

We now have the weather, nice sky etc but the nice yellow feild has gone (to mud - yuk). I shall try a dif location and try again.

Thanks

Two or three steps to the left and kneeling would help immensley.

I'd recommend removing the vignetting, adding a warm-up filter and playing with levels a pit as the first stage. Add a graduated sky and tweak the saturation then crop a bit off the left (to just past the sign post) top and bottom to make the car just a bit less central would be the second stage.

the picture, if you imagine it without the car, reminds me of a turn ot the 20th century landscape...

so my take on your picture is this.

The edited pictures from all 3 attempts look stunning. A great composition has turned into a great calendar photograph now, IMO.

Lovely.

Why can't I make them look that good!!!

I had not thought of B/w but it looks pretty mean and moody/

Thanks, I just need to get them off here and save them (hmmmm)

Cheers
