Snapped Clutch Cable on a 280i

Can anyone help?

I am after a clutch cable for a 1982 Tasmin +2 (280i), can anyone tell me what car the cable originally came off a Cortina or Granarda maybe?

My guess would be it's a special. Send the broken bits to speedy cables and they'll make you a newun

The problem I have is, that the owner took the cable to his local car outlet, left it with them to source a new one and they lost it, hence the question.

Doh! Give them a call and see if they have made one before. Also, using string, measure the required length. I used Speedy many moons ago for something which was not straight forward. I posted my bits one day and the following morning they phoned to say the job was done and my new cable was back in the post. One day later I fitted said new cable and a happy customer was born
Try to get the "car outlet" to take responsability for their drop off! Easier said than done I know but if you don't ask you won't get.

That happened to mine so frequently that I had a hydraulic conversion. How the RAC patrol admired the detail engineering! Cable came off a 2.3 Granada as far as I recall, I always carried a speare but gave my last spare away some time ago so cannot check the part number unfortunately. Richard Thorpe would know where to source one if you get stuck.

i had the ame problem on my old 280 coupe i think it wa a granada cable that i fitted it was a bit longer but no ploblem also i found that the clutch peddle needed to be bent as it was rubbing against the peddle box and that was the end that used to break 3 times before
