Sony Cyber-shot or Panasonic Lumix ?

Hi Guys
after some advice, i can pick up either of these for the same price. Just wondered what everyone thought. Just looking for something with good optical zoom, but dont want to go down the SLR route yet.

Hi I have a Lumix FZ7 camera(black one) and it has been fantastic.
Plus points are the wonderful 12x Optical Leica lens,Optical Image stabaliser,2.5"lcd it has a high angle feature so you can use it with the camera held above your head and still see the picture perfectly on the lcd,and it is very quick with a release time of 0.008 sec between shots.
Panasonic with the help of Leica are really making some excellent cameras at the moment.

lumix fz7 for me as well

i shoot day in day out with a digital back and swmbo wanted a camera to take away on holiday, after reading reviews i went for the panasonic. although people go on about the noise when shooting above 200asa i have found that it isnt too bad and certainly nothing that cant be corrected in noise ninja.

Lumix, without a doubt. So much faster than the Sony's in low light, build quality is extremely good, also I think has the digital display in the viewfinder?

I love my lumix.

Oh and the 12x optcal zoom is superb, the digital zoom with the image stabilisation isn't bad either. The Leica lens is top notch, no complaints.
