MY PC won't save stuff
Discussion
Thought I'd post this seperately from my laptop thread.
Currently neither mmy PC nor laptop are working properly. Sheesh. MY PC won't save webpages or save pictures. It'll save stuff like word documents etc. I can no longer save any pictures, and I find I can no longer save web pages to my mobile (which I like to do for a read later).
I've scanned the PC with everything I can find, and have used system restore, all to no avail.
Can anyone help?
Cheers, guys.

What OS are you running, and what browser? How do you normally save them, what do you expect to happen, what actually happens?
Er, Windows XP, service pack 2, Firefox. I normallt right click and select 'Save page as' or 'Save Image As' if saving a piccy.

We need to know what error message appears if any, and at what stage. If there are no error messages then what are you expecting to see vs what are you actually seeing?
Hi no error messages. In fact I get nothing at all.
When I attempt to save a page or picture, then go to where I attempted to save it to, and expect to see the icon for the picture or page, there is simply nothing there.

I'd search the whole hard disk for the files using the search tool in the start menu, they might not be going where they appear to be.
If you go to file/open file in firefox can you see the files then?

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been following this up, having posed the q in the first place.
The above help was interesting, 'cos 'search' would find a link to the pic or webpage, but couldn't open it.
Anyway, I've remidied the problem by starting again and reloading windows, having backed up docs, pics etc on a seperate hard drive.
Sinve reloading windows my PC is now operating properly and much quicker than it was before.
Thanks guys.
