HOW TO SELL A CAR?

Put a "for sale" thing in the window with all the details on (price, milage, year of birth and so...) and let it work for itself. Otherwise, dump it in rally cross and have some fun. That's how I will get rid off a 1983 BMW 318 this year.

Have a quick look through you local paper, see who sells similar cars at similar money and give 'em a try. Putting a sign in the window hardly ever works. It'll only really attract those cheapskates who can't be bothered to buy a copy of Autotrader.
Has it got any MOT? Find the nearest car auction to you, stick it in there with no reserve on it, and somebody will buy it. You'll get sent a cheque for the bid price minus the auction fees, which vary from one auction to the next but can sometimes be a bit steep (e.g. £20 sellers fee, plus 10% commission, minimum £35, is one I can think of off the top of my head in London).
Edited to add: Tam Girl, if you're in London, try BCA Enfield (020 8366 1144) - take your car there on a Friday and it'll go in the Saturday Select sale the next day. Or try Thameside Motor Auction in Fulham (020 7736 0086), take your car there on a Tuesday or Friday for that evening's sale at 7.30pm or Saturday before 12.00pm for the 1pm sale.

Try any used car trader that you can think of.
Don't know where you are based, but from memory Mc Carthy cars in Tooting / Balham (South London) always used to be interested in "interesting" used cars.
Email me some details if you are near to suffolk, and as I is in 'da motor trade'! I will call round some of my buyers and get you a price.

Either you're having us on, or you're related to Chassis!
If it's a 2.0 Twinspark and the engine is good there is a steady demand for these as it's a common upgrade to stick a twinspark engine into a Bertone Coupe bodied car(like mine). I was looking for one myself until I recently bought another 2000 GTV to break.
Let me know where you are and I'll give you some local Alfa specialists who might want the car irrespective of its state for parts.
