Gearing for Mk1 GT3....

Hey lads, does anybody know what mph/1000rpm in sixth, a Mk1 GT3 does???? Cheers

Just want to work out what actual speed car is doing over 190mph. Some people think GPS can be wrong. . Lets hope rev counter is accurate!

dave, whats the story? i think the engine in that gt3 is pretty loose, it has to be pullin a bit more than others at this stage, hopefully your uber vmax will be proven, leave those vw foxes alone, avis and all the rest have to have banned you at this stage!

Hey John, long time no hear! Yeah that VW Fox was some car. Canary yellow with black bumpers!! It seems to me that 99% of guys with GT3's etc.. on here dont max them. When you ask what top speed people have gotten they cant answer.In turn they tell you ur full of boll**. Or that your GPS is wrong! Ah well...

Thats not what was said at all. What was said was:

1. It might just be possible to get a true 196mph in a GT3 Mk1.
2. It might have been wind-assisted.
3. People who have maxxed GT3s on Autobahns only got 190mph.
4. GPS can be inaccurate on occasions.
5. No-one mentioned b***s***.........

Seems you are taking this a little too personally, so chill out a bit.

Guy wasnt aiming at you! You are obviously part of the 1% that max your cars. I am reading between the lines.. I am sure you can too. I dont mind if it was wind assisted! I only have around 360bhp!! By the way, respect to the 202mph!

I haven't maxxed my car completely yet myself though, at 202mph it was adding 1.4mph every second (according to the GPS datalogger), but I had to brake as the runway only had about 500m left!

6th gear on a Mk1 is 0.82:1
Final drive is 3.44:1
Every 1000rpm in 6th equates to 25.4mph with 285/30ZR-18 rear tyres
