The berk behind the counter at my local Halfrauds told me today that as TVRs were kit cars the type of battery they used could be from 'anything in the world'.

I was recently advised by a "Halfrauds regular customer" that his dad's mate has a Tuscan Speed 12. "Don't you mean a Tuscan Speed 6?" "Nah mate. It does over 200mph - it's faster than yours."

Bloke in the fish & chip shop had great pleasure in telling me his mate has spent 10k rebuilding his VW Golf engine and almost as much on suspension yadda...yadda...and how it will pi$$ all over my TVR.

My retort of "well it will still have a VW badge on it and you can't polish a turd" seemed to raise a few sniggers among the waiting queue hehe

Foolishly asked the chap behind the parts counter at my local Halfrauds which oil I should use - showed him the manual, produced two cans I'd bought off the shelf. He picked up one can, peered at it and said "nah you don't want this one - it's for performance cars!"

I said nothing, just gently closed the manual to show the TVR logo on the front, and pointed to the Cerbera parked outside...

Strangely he then suggested that it might have been the right one after all!
