Been beta testing it for a couple of weeks now. Anyone else on here doing likewise and fancy meeting up? I am really getting into this although the old gods of helicopter and tank will have a whole new learning curve

Trying to master a hover-tank which has a fixed turret and requires the whole tank to rotate is quite a feat, but the new weaponry, especially EMP is just bow

The Mechs are absolutely the most frightening thing ever when your laying on the floor trying to take a missile base when they 'walk' past, and although I find some of it a bit much to take in (I'm getting old you see) it is going to be one of those games that you cannot leave alone eek

If anyone is interested, I could brab some screenshots if my hosting is still up.

Screenshots not officially sanctioned are illegal, I think. I read there is an NDA for anyone participating in Beta testing, which includes not posting any screenshots or videos which are not approved by EA/DICE.

I tried to join the Beta test, but by the time I got back from work, all the had keys run out. eek

Yes you are correct, I have just checked

I did quite a lot of bug reporting for Vietnam, but it seems that EA have got a good head-start on 2142.

As before more or less. Even the beta is very stable with no in-game glitches. Based on their last engine, they should have ironed out (hopefully) most of the glitches.

I must say that I have been playing it quite a lot and already have three unlocks and a couple of medals

The new front-end in BFHQ is graph based so you can see at a glance whether your game play is improving. One thing we did think was it was starting to get a little Quake like with scenery and uniforms, but there again what would it be like in 2142? The new weapons and features are extensive though, and while on foot in a battle an enemy soldier 'un-cloaked' right infront of me and blew me away hehe so the vast array of upgrades and toys more than makes up for any negatives. Did I mention the Mech's? They are awesome bow the sound of them crashing around while your on foot and trying to get a few rockets off at them is quality as they tower above you like the tripods in war of the worlds. A mech with a good gunner/pilot combo is a very powerful combination. I am fortunate to have a decent 5.1 system set up and you can hear where they are going by the crashes getting louder from the direction they are in..

I think EA have done it again with this one, I am going to pre-order asap and the rumours say it will be released around October. Can't wait

Is that a head start on ensuring there are lots of bugs?

I've not been able to beta test BF2142 as all the codes went before I could get one, just waiting for the demo now....

See you on the battlefield soldier!
