I currently have a 2004 04 T350C and have had since new. Within the first 3 months of having the car, it had to go back to the factory for a full respray, due to flaws in the paint and join lines showing through! It eventually returned after 9 weeks looking great! However, less than two years on the paint has gone on the bonnet and front wings again. I have been told that it is unlikely that they will be willing to do anything now and that I will have to pay for the respray!!! Does anyone have any experience of this sort of issue??

Your help would be appreciated!!

Hi,

Can you explain what you mean by "gone".

What colour do you have?

Pics if possible.

The colour is Rolex Blue, unfortunately no pics as it is very difficult to capture.

The paint looks as thoung it has sunken in to the fibre glass, resulting in a strange smooth and raised effect. Looking a littel grainy in places.

Any thoughts?

Mine had similar problems on an 05 T350 which necessitated virtually a full respray - generally crap paintwork full of pin pricks and runs and join lines - trouble is even after the respray further imperfections seemed to appear - with that and other problems I lost patience and gave up!

Should have a bought a Cerbera - quicker...

...and never a problem to be had! (Er, um, cough!)

You should mention that the paint problems look like a mixture of bubbling paint and tree sap having stuck to the wings and bonnet.

PS Given the colour I wouldn't want to post it on here either!

Think the term you're looking for is 'Orange Peel' - it's often down to poor prep work and the paint not being correctly mixed - basically shoddy work. I'd go after getting them to sort it out - most body repair work has a decent length warranty.
