As others have said, how much are you looking at spending? And are you looking for a kit to build yourself or a used one?

sorry, been away. Right, 2k max.
I'm not sure about the follwing really:

1. What is best to get (my first track car) 205 - 1.9 im thinking.
2. Get one already tract ready with roll cage etc.
3. Insurance - Do this on a day basis rather than yearly.
4. Tax - 6 moths and use the other 6 months to repair it?
5. MOT - do track cars need an MOT? (am i right with the noise limits)

any more info will be good.

they are still too much! i wouldnt like to a) be out in shit weather and crash/roll it. think a 205 would be better.
What do you recommend:

1. Buy a standard one and modify it? if so how much extra am i looking to spend lowering it, roll caging it etc?
2. buy one MOT'd and track ready?
