Hi I'm looking for kit-cars or replica's with V8 with possibility for V8 I like to see pictures, specs, are they good for road and track? prices? ready cars only, not space anough to build a car myself, so used cars and or new ready to go cars.
They must have a hardtop or coupe like roof or gulwing type doors and good windows, not stick in sidewindows!, here are some examples, most are not my type, I'm looking for a classic shape? but modern roadholdings and a fast V8;

>> Ultima GTR(currently the fastest car from 0mph to 100mph and back to 0mph)

>> Ford GT 40 (but I'm not such fan of the sidewindow openings...)

>> Lambo Countach V8 kit-car;(looks good but not my type)

>> Ferrari modena 360 replica v8 HOMOLOGADA (nice not my type)

>> Cheetah V8

>> Minotaur mk2 V8 looks also very tempting and all can be removed for lets say sunshine days;

>> Banks Lotus Europa type 62 also to get with V8 lovely looking cracker!

Corse GTO Lancia Stratos from SuperStratos;

so these where some examples from wich till know the Ultima GTR would be welcome and that lovely Banks Lotus type 62 with V8.
So please if you know some more cars old or new let me know and ad your details and pictures so I know a bit more about them and maybe one day chase on to buy second hand or new but taxes are to high in the Netherlands...
thanks

BAD Daytona Cobra Coupe. I know nothing about it except that it looked fantastic at Stoneleigh the other year and is probably really expensive

They are OK also not a winddown window but a little airvent in the perpex window but you can open the door more easely and its a sort wingdoor wich I like...the nice and lovely looking GT 40 has the stupid? manhole doors the headcutting doors? so not that easy when you park next a car or when you are visit a carpark and want to push the button on the ticket entry?
But to be honest today at Winterswijk a classic carday there was a very very nice GT40 a red one with a 4.2 audi V8 and a superb sound and lovely build...type 1 I believe very very nice!
and seeing that changed my mind a bit...when I could get one like that I could go for such car too
But the Ultima GTR is still on top of the list I think...but I'm not so in the kit-cars...
thanks

Hi Rene,

There's another possible car in the back of one of your GT40 photos - Viper GTS. Venom cars do one of these with a choice of engines, with fully built cars available from £17,000 (price might be out of date). See www.thecar2build.com

Edited to add that Gardner Douglas, makers of one of the best Cobra replicas, do a Cobra hard top with little gullwing doors that close onto the tops of the main doors. see www.gdcars.com

Hi Graham, thanks for the links I will look into thoseyes and see or feel if such cars can come close to what I also like to see in cars to give meself more to choose from when I buy another car always nice to shop around!
I always was a viper fan till about 3 years ago then I saw some in the flesh and new more about them...but maybe with those cars its all different and more like the racecars where they only use the look(body) of a car but are complete different underneeth V8....cars?? forgot the name.

those GD cars I know from old carmagazines also the hardtop(but forgot that a bit) see if I can find that hardtop with gulwing doors? last time I visit that website I did not come acros such thing...? but have to say I did not look for the hardtop.

So I will give those certainly a look again
Ow...I also came acros this lovely car...the Ginetta G12 but not sure they also can be ordened with V8? or only the 190 or 230hp cosworth...but the car weights only around 600kg so thats more the way Lotus have to think

this is one of the nicest? Ginetta cars I have seen...lovely classic looks and they build them again replica's so...? maybe interesting? looks are realy nice little low light...
thanks

I do not know, I only know they do V6...and on pictures the engine bay is not that wide? maybe some reader knows that, but they look well made those cars, a bit ferrari Dino and or the first Elise coupe concept...

My long term plan is a change to swap to a 4.2 Audi V8 on an audi transaxle mounted longitudinally..

Oh, and I've seen a G12 with a V8 in it racing; it looked quite heavily modified to squeeze it in, and I have no idea what 'box it was running with (or what V8 it was).

longitudinally? it could be possible but then the gearbox and axels?? to get that in line will be hard me thinks...
Sadly those very small V8 engines like the ones from radical SR8 I believe are still expensive and not that longlasting I believe as normal engines...but such engine could fit.
Keep us posted about your long term plan.

Or use this engine POWERTEC RPA - 2.6-LITRE MACROBLOCK V8 360<>380hp! and has a longer life then the older type of such V8 this one can make at least 20.000miles(stil to low though...)

That would do Also I've heard that they will make a G12 with V8 but not the same as the "old" G12, they make it a bit longer and wider because of that I believe a roadgoing version! so that would be niceyes lets keep hoping...

Hi GT, also the good news is that this is one top bloke, very talented and genuine, I'm in the queue for one of his Dax Tojeiros, having seen the hardtop 'in the flesh' at his premises, impressive!
Took a ride in a De Dion car, handling remarkable.

Rene, I may go for the hardtop at a later stage, my last car was the TVR Chimaera with its excellent Targa roof, but with the Dax I am starting off with just a tonneau cover, and bravely facing the British weather like those Cobra men in the '60's!I may die of exposure..or fright(6.4 Ford Windsor, 400+ hp!

Paul, your a real brave man...or trying to be one if you have a Cobra as a second car its possible to go without hardtop but in my case...not realy.
I had a TVR V8s wich targa roof liked to pop out at high speedsyikes and a TVR Griff that had a better construction wich I could live withyes (lovely sounds they make those V8...
The 400+hp will scare you sometimes, or at least adreline pumping and that makes you smile! its like a cure
Keep us posted about your order...

I also might be interested in this...a "Chevron B8" also very fast and with a roof...don't know prices but I'm into looking up that info too...many nice toys around but to find the right one that realy feels like the car for you is a bit harder;D

lovely too this Chevron B8

Yes, for everyday use you need a roof, unless your in California..that Chevron is stunning, ashamed to admit that's a new shape to me, haven't seen one before, has a bit of Lola, bit of GT40 etc, love it. When Cobra build starts, will post on here.
