Emergency door release handles

The drivers side red 'T' handle in the sill does not open the door, tried it today when I put the car away out of curiosity, can anyone give me any idea how to fix it, the passenger one works ok.
Presumably it is cable operated and seems to move the door release catch slightly on the passenger side where it works, the drivers side catch moves also but door does not open. Also when I opened the passenger door with the red handle & closed the door the sodding glass had not dropped and was bent out over the wind deflector.
I have done a search but not come up with anything of use!

I had this on my last Cerbera and found that the release cable for the driver's door was routed incorrectly at the door catch. I removed the trim behind the door, untangled the cable and everything worked smoothly. If this isn't your problem, then you may need to shorten the cable but I can't recall how this is done at the door catch end.
The emergency release isn't supposed to drop the window glass (you'd need wiring back to the control box in the boot to enable this) so always make sure that you lower the glass before trying to open (or close!) the door using this method. It's frightening how much the glass moves when you shut the door with the window fully up!

Thanks RR, just one point the cable seems to be routed through the sill, you say remove the trim behind the door?

Yep, the trim panel that gives you access to the rear of the door lock mechanism, as the cable runs from the emergency release handle, along the sill and up to the mechanism. You'll probably find the cable caught up in the rear of the lock gubbins somewhere.
