Just lost e-mails, help please
Discussion
Hi gents,
I just turned on PC, hit Outlook express, mails started downloading, PC crashed and restarted itself, reloaded outlook express but all the "new" e-mails had gone and there are no new ones there now when I hit "send/recieve"
How do I get them all back?
Most likely that they were all just spams (i get over 50 a day
) but there may have been some important or work ones and I worry I may have lost one or 2.
Thanks,
Greg

If you are checking from a 'pop' service they should be on the hosts server (whether that's your isp or whatever). The server usually deletes messages after you have downloaded them, however if outlook express crashed before it finished checking it will not have given the thumbs up to the server.
If you can access you mail through a webmail type site do that, see if they are there (if they are u might just have to fiddle with outlook settings) if not... Keep fingers crossed they weren't important.
I'd always go for imap service if you have the option. They will not delete messages and means you always have backup of your messages if you HD plays up or program as in this case.
