Moving in to the new house pretty soon and being as we are moving from a 1 storey flat to a 3 storey house, there is no way i'm running up and down stairs all day to answer the phone.

Any suggestions for a 3 pack of digital cordless phones with answering machine? I've had a look in Argos and the like, but there must be a cheaper/better quality option?

Anything DECT that you can pick up cheaply - just register the various handsets to the base unit.

We have a Panasonic base unit with corded handset and answerphone built in. Also have a Panasonic "mobile" handset that can operate the answer phone remotely plus an old BT "mobile" handset. All works as well as you'd hope. Only fly in the ointment is the handsfree operation on the base unit being a bit cr4p. Handsfree on the Panasonic handset is fine though.

3rd'd, for Panasonic. Speech quality is perfect - the only issues I have are with the display on ours:
1) It's tough to see the caller's name/number (but apparently there's a version which shouts out the name/number!!)
2) Ours has built in answerphone and it's not obvious (unless you specifically look) that you've got a message waiting.

No panasonics on here though, but can anybody recommend any of these? Prices seem pretty good.

In particular, any opinions on one of these three options?

I've just bought a set of 2 BT 2500s and the sound quality of the phones and the recording is really really bad and renders your messages virtually undecipherable.

I'm more than happy with my NTL phones - smaller than panasonic with a better looking base. Good answer machine and too many useful functions to list. However when I went to buy a set for the girlfriend I couldn't find them anymore, so I bought the panasonics instead and they are very good
